Our Core Developmental Activities

Focusing on local resource-based activities to empower rural communities.

Economic Developmental Activities

The primary objective is to create a group of young women & men, trained in **Appropriate Technology and ideology**, who would be self-employed utilizing local resources.

We work for the upliftment of the common masses, especially the backward and needy rural populace, through **alleviation of poverty, illiteracy and ignorance** so as to make them self-reliant.

Emphasis is given on creation of **self-employment at the village itself** instead of migrating to urban areas, ensuring their acquired knowledge percolates down for the holistic development of the village people and strengthening village economy.

Crop Husbandry (Sustainable Agriculture)

Sustainable growth in food production through modern, scientific agriculture encompassing various crops is essential to keep pace with the population explosion.

Trainees mostly belong to the farming community, hence due emphasis is laid on this subject, conjugated with:

  • Integrated plant nutrient management.
  • Pest management.
  • Watershed management.
  • Package of practice for cultivation of location specific major field crops.

Women and Child Development

If women become illiterate, ill-nourished, and ill-treated, the foundation of a society gets broken. Our programs address this by aiming for the proper shelter, nourished food, clothes, and education for children, who are the future of society.

i) Sister Nivedita Student’s Home

For female children who have lost their parents (due to diseases like cancer, heart attack, diabetes, and Covid-19 etc.), we are planning to set up a Student's Home where they will receive **free food and lodging**. They will be provided with books, copies, and other required stationeries, and assisted in studies to help them score good results in examinations, especially Secondary and Higher Secondary.

ii) Skill Development and Professional Training

This includes essential training in **computer awareness** and soft skills like **Personality Development**.

Personality development is a very important soft skill, focusing on developing **self-confidence, positive attitude, communication skills and emotional intelligence** to make the trainees employable in the job market.

Post Training Support Service

The **Subject Specific Focus** ensures trainees have the practical knowledge required for their chosen self-employment paths, supported by continued guidance from NVRDC.
